RAFTING ON THE SOČA RIVER WITH MAYA TEAM
For all adrenaline and sports enthusiasts, rafting on the Soča River is always an excellent choice. It is suitable for both children and adults.
Types of rafting we offer:
- Family rafting (EASY SOČA RAFTING) – suitable for children from 4 years of age onwards
- Classic rafting (KLASIK SOČA RAFTING) – for adults and children aged 10 and above when accompanied by an adult
- RAFTING FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS and/or HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Family rafting takes place on the lower section of the Soča River, from Kamno to Tolmin, where the rapids are classified as Grade I–II on a scale from I to VI.
Classic rafting takes place on the upper section of the Soča River, from the Boka Waterfall to the village of Trnovo ob Soči, where the rapids reach Grade III–IV. No prior knowledge or experience is required to participate; however, all participants in the Classic Soča Rafting program must be confident swimmers. It is also important to be aware that this is a sporting activity in which each participant is given their own paddle and actively contributes to the successful navigation of the raft as part of a team.
How does Soča rafting work?
Before the trip, all participants receive appropriate rafting equipment for the Soča River. The equipment includes a helmet, life jacket, wetsuit, and neoprene shoes. Our guides distribute the equipment according to the participants’ size and weight.
Once everyone is fully equipped, we set off towards the entry point, which we reach using our vans. At the starting point, you change into your gear and prepare for the safety briefing, during which we explain and demonstrate all the rules of safe rafting.
After the safety briefing, the unforgettable adventure begins. Along the way, you will also have the chance to swim in the most beautiful river in the world – the Soča. The activity on the water lasts just over an hour and a half. Upon arrival at the exit point, our drivers will already be waiting with vans containing your dry clothes. After changing, we drive back to the starting point, to our base in Labrca near Tolmin.
